About this area

Hair loss, thinning, and what happens at the follicle

Hair thinning affects most people at some point. Genetic factors, hormonal shifts, postpartum changes, stress, and aging all contribute. The pattern varies. Some clients see hairline recession. Others see crown thinning. Others see diffuse shedding across the whole scalp.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is the treatment we use here. Your own blood is processed to concentrate the growth factors, which are then injected into the scalp to stimulate dormant follicles. The treatment is most effective when started early, before significant loss has occurred.

PRP and microneedling for hair restoration

The hair follicle has multiple cycles. Active growth, transitional, and resting. Hair loss accelerates when more follicles enter the resting and shedding phases relative to active growth.

Three factors drive hair loss in most clients.

Genetics determine the baseline pattern of androgenetic alopecia.

Hormones particularly DHT, testosterone, and estrogen shifts, affect follicle activity.

Stress and nutrition influence the rate of cycling and shedding.

Treatment addresses what can be addressed and acknowledges what can't.

How this changes over time

Started early, PRP can change the trajectory. Started late, it can hold the line.

Hair changes appear earlier for some clients than others. Postpartum shedding can begin in the late twenties. Perimenopause shedding typically begins in the forties. Androgenetic patterns may start as early as the twenties for clients with strong genetic predisposition.

Treatment is most effective when started early, before significant loss has occurred.

In Your 20s

Younger clients sometimes experience postpartum shedding or early signs of genetic thinning. Treatment in this decade is often highly effective.

In Your 30s

Pregnancy, postpartum, and stress-related shedding are common. Treatment can restore density when started promptly.

In Your 40s

Perimenopause begins to affect hair density for many clients. PRP can slow the changes and support the follicles that remain.

In Your 50s+

Treatment becomes about maintenance. PRP can support existing density. For significant loss, we discuss honestly whether referral to a hair restoration specialist is the right move.

How we treat the scalp

PRP for hair loss is a series. We draw your blood, process it to concentrate the platelets and growth factors, and inject the concentrate into the scalp in a grid pattern targeting the areas of concern.

Most plans use three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, followed by maintenance every three to six months. The full result develops over six to twelve months as follicles respond.

We're honest about expectations. PRP works best on early-stage thinning. For significant loss that's been established for years, we may recommend referral to a hair restoration specialist instead.

I was truly blown away after my appointment here. Every single person I interacted with, from the front desk to the providers who handled my treatments, was incredible! They made me feel so welcomed and cared for, and were both informative and genuinely kind. The space itself is spotless, cozy, and easily the most inviting place I’ve ever been for Botox. Michelle did my Botox and she was amazing! I also had a hydrafacial and dermaplaning, and I already can’t wait to come back again and again. You will not regret booking here!
